My sweet daughter has inspired me to start blogging. I haven't been too successful or consistent in this arena but I'm willing to give it another shot. lolol\
Here I will post my poetic musings and thoughts whether in poetry or prose composed. No claim to perfection made only the soul of this writer seeking.....
Thank you for coming into my world and God bless.

The Sylph
There is a bitter door between love and hate.
It hangs thin and skeletal though still it holds
and I am trapped without a key.
While within my prison
raw edged and alive
la dolce vita lies cruelly outside the caged.
Mute, leaden, deathly silhouette
a shabby ill-used heart lies mutely
passing regret.
Towards the gloom of death
shadows threaten
the fumes of belching acrid stagnant desire
chills the inmate to the bone.
There is no more happy home.
I'm so tired of the fight and I'm out of cigarettes!
There! Just there!
Can you see it?
Suspended within,
my interred soul contemplates escape.
With longing, I look beyond the cell.
Outside the imprisoning bars I see a different fate!
Life, oh beautiful life,
la bella vita,
sprawling, scalding, steamy and glistening
in a willful gluttony of joy!
See how it sparkles hot and sweet
just out of reach,
like a delicious fragrant haze
floating on an errant breeze.
Close my eyes, if wishing could make it so.
Breathe in deeply.
Exhale my spirit
so it may soar.
See how now
I am become a silky supple smoke,
a sensuous sylph
slipping through the space between
reborn,
free at last,
upon the warm wind of my dreams!
